A truly wonderful evening last night with @nandanadevsen and a surprise visit from Griff Rhys Jones too!

Many thanks to all who came along for Nandana's reading, it was a true pleasure to host another beautiful event and listen to both Nandana and her mother, Nabaneeta Dev Sen's work.

There are lots of signed copies of Nandana's books in stock if you didn't get the chance to come along, including Acrobat and her children's book, Kangaroo Kisses.

A big thank you to Nandana, and to @griffrhysjones for a wonderful reading and for visiting our bookshop! It was so lovely to host an event in our shop and see so many there - here's to more on the horizon!

Wow! What a fantastic evening we had with the lovely @skyemcalpine at @ginnysmaldon ✨️

We had the pleasure of hosting this gorgeous event with Skye, with Toblerone Fondue, fantastic cocktails and sharing a love of food.

Many thanks to all who came along, and the biggest thanks to Skye for visiting us and filling us with joy (and chocolate!)

We've got lots of signed copies of Skye's recipe book, A Table Full of Love in stock (it really is a beautiful book bursting with recipes for all occasions) head to our website or get in touch if you would like us to put one aside for you.

Event News!

We're so pleased to welcome Nandana Dev Sen to Maldon Books this month for another beautiful evening of poetry.

Nandana will be reading from Acrobat, her translation of a selection of her late mother’s work. A radiant collection of poetry about womanhood, intimacy, and the body politic that together evokes the arc of an ordinary life. Nabaneeta Dev Sen’s rhythmic lines explore the joys and agonies of first love, childbirth, and decay with a restless, tactile imagination, both picking apart and celebrating the rituals that make us human.

We had such a wonderful evening with Nandana at our shop in 2021, and we're so looking forward to seeing her again at our bookshop. We hope you will join us for an intimate evening of poetry from an inspiring woman. The event is free to attend, so no need to book tickets online, and we’ll have Nandana’s books available to purchase and have signed after the reading. We’ll also be serving prosecco too!

Yesterday marked the publication of @katherinemay_ gorgeous new book, Enchantment, and we were so pleased to receive a beautiful planter for our window from @gardeninaboxuk to accompany our display!

In Enchantment, Katherine May, the bestselling author of Wintering, explores the restorative properties of the natural world and begins to rekindle her sense of wonder.
