Personal Shopping & One to One Appointments
If you find yourself in a gifting muddle and would like to spend time with one of our booksellers without visiting us on a busy Saturday, then look no further! This Christmas, we’re offering personal shopping and one to one appointments for anyone who might like to have a dedicated time slot with one of our booksellers, with the freedom to browse at your leisure and discuss your choices without having to rush. As our team is local to Maldon, we’re happy to stay after hours if you would like to visit us after you finish work, or when the shop has closed. We’re also able to contact you remotely via Zoom if you’re not able to get into the shop but would still like a personal shopping experience. We’re absolutely bursting with books, and it’s sometimes hard to find the right one when there’s just so many in front of you on the shelves! We’d love to help you if you need a hand. Gift Vouchers & National Book Tokens
We sell gift vouchers that can be spent at our bookshop either in store or online. These are separate vouchers that can be found right here. Bookshop Gift Cards can be spent in the bookshop, whereas our Online Gift Cards can only be spent on our website. We’re able to post gift vouchers out to you if you’re not able to make it into the shop to pick one up, but please note that we cannot guarantee postal deliveries arriving before Christmas if purchased after the 16th December. We also sell National Book Tokens, that can be used in any bookshop across the UK. If you would like to purchase a National Book Token and have it posted directly or delivered to you locally, please do get in touch as we can arrange this for you.
Late Night Shopping November – December
Our bookshop will be open until 8pm every Thursday from Thursday 24th November until Thursday 21st December. We’ll be joining our friends and fellow businesses in Maldon who will also be keeping their shops open late on Thursday evenings for anyone wanting to shop at a quieter time after work. Free parking will be available in all Maldon town centre car parks every Thursday in December from 2pm and all day on Christmas Eve.
Local Deliveries and UK Posting Until 16th December
If you’re unable to visit us and you live within the Maldon District, we’ll happily deliver your books to you for free. Throughout November and December, we’ll be bringing back our local delivery service for anyone who isn’t able to get out and visit the shops. If you’re in need of books but aren’t able to get in, please do feel free to give us a call or an email and we can arrange a convenient time to drop your order in to you. This can also be done for any gift voucher or National Book Token service. We understand it’s sometimes difficult to visit in the Christmas period, and if you or a relative struggle to get to into the town centre, we’ll be on hand to deliver your books to you.
If you’re not local to the area but would like to purchase one of our books, gift vouchers or gift subscriptions from our site, please note that orders placed after 16th December cannot be guaranteed delivery before the 25th December.
Book Ordering Service (Next Day Collections up until the 22nd December)
Did you know we can order in any book in print for next day collection at our bookshop? If you can’t find the book you’re looking for on our shelves or on our site, please let us know and we’ll try our hardest to find it for you. If you can’t visit us in store, we can have your book sent directly to you, just ask! We’re able to offer next day in store collections up until the 22nd of December. Whilst we rarely have problems with our delivery service, there could be a slight delay in receiving our orders in the run up to Christmas, so we advise getting your orders in sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.
Gift Subscriptions
We offer a range of subscriptions for book lovers of all ages. You can choose between a three month or six month subscription, and you can also choose to either give the receiver a personalised certificate to open, or to have their first box sent directly to them. Please know that orders made for gift subscriptions after the 16th of December will be posted out in January 2023. You can check out our subscriptions on this page here.
Gift Wrapping Service
We can wrap your books up for you! If you require gift wrapping for your order, please get in touch with us directly. Gift wrapping starts from £1.50 per book, and can be personalised too. If you would like your books gift wrapped, please email us ahead of ordering through our site, or give us a call if you would like to have your books wrapped in store.
